On Friday, January 31st we had guests from Konawaena High School. The Kuilei Outreach Program wanted to send a shout out and appreciation to the following site presenters:
Sheryl Fuchino-Nishida, Winnie Law, Amy Shiroma (Hospitality) – Thank you for the fun and competitive Kahoot game that taught the students about potential careers in the field. It was eye opening for them, especially learning about events on the Big Island.
Leaugeay Barnes (EMS) and her students – Thank you for the interactive and hands-on CPR demo. The students also really appreciated the Q&A session and loved your real life experiences in the field.
Grant Sato, Chef Lauren Tamamoto and her students, and Chef Roy Yamaguchi (Culinary and CIP) – Thank you for allowing the students to observe the classes, but most of all, thank you for allowing the students to taste the amazing food.
Our campus was the last stop of college tours on Oahu for the students of Konawaena, but to quote their group, “We really saved the best for last.” We hope to see you at the next tour!
