Go on Wo is made possible by funding from the Wo Family Endowment and coordinated by the Wo Learning Champions. This opportunity is for faculty and staff.
Grants will be awarded to eligible faculty and staff for visits to other University of Hawaiʻi Community College campuses to consult with colleagues on program development, delivery of academic support services, facilities, etc. Award winners will be notified by email. Individuals may not apply for more than one Visitor Grant per academic year and approval prior to travel is required. Grant recipients are expected to submit a report on their visit within seven days of the trip. The Grant report should include the date of the visit, a summary of the outcomes, and any next steps that are planned. The Grant report should be sent to your supervisor and to Joyce Yamada as an email attachment. Depending on the nature of the travel, grant recipients will also be required to complete other travel documents required by University of Hawaiʻi policies.
Eligibility: All faculty (including lecturers), clerical, APT, and custodial staff are eligible to apply.
The Award: Each Wo Faculty/Staff Visitor Grant will cover airfare and car rental for neighbor island trips or mileage for Oʻahu faculty driving to other Oʻahu campuses. Up to $20 for meals will also be covered with the total not to exceed $300 for any individual grant (requests to cover the cost of overnight accommodations will be considered on a case-by-case basis). A total of $3,000 per year will be available. Funding does not cover replacement costs for the day the grant recipient is away from her/his campus.
Application Process: Applications will be reviewed at the Wo Learning Champions meetings on the third Friday of each month during the academic year (Except December and May).
