Barbara Saromines-Ganne has dedicated over 50 years to teaching, both in the classroom and through television and online platforms. She has shared her expertise in Western and Asian Art History at Leeward Community College, the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, and UH West O‘ahu. Her passion for global education includes teaching aboard the Semester at Sea World Tour and leading 11 UH Study Abroad programs in Europe. Beyond academia, Barbara has worked as a professional European Tour Manager for Insight International Tours and American Express. From 2011 to 2014, she played a key role in the arts community as Commissioner and Chair of the Hawai‘i State Foundation on Culture and the Arts.
Barbara will share her extensive knowledge and experiences of Uzbekistan, the heart of the Silk Road, with a special focus on its art, architecture, fashion, and cuisine, along with fascinating insights into Timur (Tamerlane) and Ulugh Beg.
