Join us in welcoming our colleague, Mary Ann Esteban, Professor in Math and Science at Kapiʻolani CC, to UHCC OERʻs Office Hours. She is the co-author of Kapiʻolani CC Math 75X OER. She will share her process of using OER to re-envision course pedagogy for MATH 75X (Introduction to Math Reasoning). She and her team had been unable to teach math the way they needed to with their textbook, so they planned a curriculum based on exploration-based collaboration, including activities focused on college success skills through a growth mindset (general and mathematical). They also planned on creating formative and summative assessments.
