How do you determine the density of a tree crown? How do you figure out the diameter of a tree stem by measuring its circumference? What are the common names of the ficus trees planted in Makahiapo (Great Lawn)? These are some of the things participants learned during the first KCC tree inventory session last week.

The second session is scheduled for Weds., Oct. 4, 8:30-10:30 a.m., at Makahiapo (Great Lawn). We will meet at the black metal tables/chairs near Koki’o Building. Look for us in yellow shirts. Stay as long or as short as you’d like. Snacks will be provided.

Although the project is geared for students, all members of the campus community are welcome to join. For more information, see the project flyer [new window].
