Aloha mai kākou,
With a heavy heart, I inform you that a long-term member of Kapiʻolani Community College, Dale London, passed away on May 24th. Dale has been with us since 2006 and served in various capacities.
Please know that losing a colleague can impact us in many ways. If you need to lean on professional support, an Employee Assistance Program is available to faculty and staff.
Allow me to share the words of Carol Hoshiko and other colleagues who were close to Dale:
“My memories of Dale stretch way back to the time when Continuing Education programs were housed in the Manono Building, including the American Sign Language program’s staff and faculty. Dale was a support staff member at that time and seemed to thrive in that environment. He was energetic, worked hard, willing to help instructors, the program coordinator, and others. Dale was especially jovial when it came time to delight families and children during the holidays at Windward Mall through the Deaf Santa program… We will miss his smile, laughter, his unusual beard, and the unique bounce to his walk.”
At this time we do not have information about services. We will keep you updated if information becomes available. Please keep Daleʻs family in your thoughts during this difficult time.
