Have you ever had difficulty accessing period products, like tampons or pads on campus? Do you struggle to afford period products?

The Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society at Kapi‘olani Community College, with the help of the Student Congress, has begun to address period poverty and menstruation by providing free menstrual products in several restrooms on campus.  Progress has been made in understanding menstruation and period poverty in Hawai‘i.  However, we need much more information, specifically about the experiences and needs of our students.

To gather this data, our college’s Honor Society chapter (Alpha Kappa Psi), has collaborated with the local non-profit Ma‘i Movement and Dr. Jhumka Gupta at George Mason University to create a short, but important survey about the accessibility of menstrual products and how this may impact your life.

Please help us by completing the Contextualizing Menstruation at the University of Hawai‘i Campuses survey.  Understanding how periods affect UH students as well as the issue of menstrual inequity is important to making systematic changes in government, schools, and communities.

Participation in the study is strictly voluntary.  The survey deadline is March 31st. Mahalo for your participation!
