Aloha Kākou,
With the end of summer nearing, we are excited to soak in the sun with you all on a new restoration collaboration with community partners; Kuilei Cliffs, The Diamond Head Foundation, and Kapiʻolani Community College along the Diamond Head Road Scenic Byway. Join State Parks in efforts to beautify the slopes of Lēʻahi on September 14th from 9:00 A.M. to 12 Noon. Please register for this event on our DLNR iVolunteer page at: https://dlnr.ivolunteer.com/dhsmmakaislopes_91424. Via registration, volunteers are prompted to complete and bring a signed waiver, here is the direct link to the waiver. Attached is the flyer/map for your reference, feel free to help disseminate the event. We are meeting at the grassy area near the shower/beach trailhead. We will begin orientation at 9AM, split into two groups, and then continue to our worksites focusing on various weeding and resource management tasks on the slopes of Lēʻahi along the Diamond Head Road. High-visibility vests will be distributed to all volunteers and must be worn at all times. We will have a portable restroom on-site, please wear shoes, and comfortable clothes to work in, and bring water. Tools and gloves will be provided.  We are looking forward to seeing you on the Makai side of the park on Diamond Head Road. All Service Learning students are invited to participate and will count as service learning hours. Faculty, Staff & Administrators are welcome to join us.
