Aloha Kākou!
Kūkalahale, a collaborative grant between Honolulu and Kapiʻolani Community Colleges, invites you to join us for Kīpaipai Aloha ~ Holoholo Wahi Waiwai, a series of field trips to learn about and build relationships with community organizations who MĀLAMA [care for] and HOʻOLOLI [renew] life-giving WAIWAI [resources, wealth] at special places around Oʻahu
As we holoholo [walk, travel] into Kohelepelepe and visit Koko Crater Botanical Garden, we will learn how Kamapuaʻa, Pele, and her sister, Kapoʻulakīnaʻu, are connected to this volcanic formation. Plants from Hawaiʻi and other parts of the world will greet us and reveal their origins, stories, and relationships within this precious natural and cultural resource
