Kū Pūnāwai Series Kick-Off, Tuesday May 21st, 10:00 a.m. in front of the Cafeteria

We are acting on your priorities, which include health and wellness. A healthy work and school environment is paramount for a thriving, dynamic, resilient campus community. As a first step toward Kapi`olani Community College’s alahele, Thriving and Sustainable Campus, some health and wellness classes named the Kū Pūnāwai Series were developed.
The kick-off for the Kū Pūnāwai Series is scheduled for Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in front of Kapi`olani Community College’s Cafeteria and is open to all who want to attend. Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs Napoleon, who named the Kū Pūnāwai Series, will offer an Oli, explain the meaning of the name, and Chancellor Takabayashi will give brief remarks. Then, the Taiko Center of the Pacific will perform.
Over the next several months, Kapi`olani Community College’s Office of Community and Continuing Education will offer a variety of health and wellness classes designed to help align your body, mind, and spirit. Classes include Oli Workshops, Relaxing and Flowing Taiko, Adult Beginning Taiko, Tai Chi, Zumba, Hula, Ikebana, Meatless Cuisine for Health and Wellness, Yoga/Meditation, QiGong, Aligning Mind, Body, and Spirit, Tuina, Forest Walks, and more. Tuition will be waived for some classes and other classes will be subsidized.
