The Kū Pūnāwai Series for health and wellness has scheduled its next class – Zumba Fitness, beginning October 22 to November 14, 2024, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:45 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. in Kapi`olani Community College’s Maile Dance Studio. Classes are conducted by Frances Hokama, certified Zumba and Zumba Gold instructor since 2018. The course fee for faculty, staff, administrators, student workers, and alumni is only $10.  For information about how to register for the class, contact Alissa Kashiwada at alissak@hawaii.edu.

Get a serious dose of happiness and boosted energy while working out to fun Latin music and dance moves. These classes consist of medium-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance workout. A Zumba Fitness class is a total body workout with aerobic, interval, and resistance training which combines all elements of fitness – cardio, muscle conditioning, balance, and flexibility.

This course will help you build stamina, improve coordination, relieve stress, and boost your mood. Everyone is encouraged to go at their own pace.
