We are looking forward to seeing you at the 2023 Hawaiʻi Student Success Institute (HISSI) this Friday, March 3 at the Hawai‘i Convention Center!
Here are a few reminders:
- Come early. Our morning schedule is below:
- 7:45 a.m. Continental breakfast and registration
- 8:30 a.m. Morning Networking
- 9:15 a.m. Opening comments and keynote
- Attend our sessions. More than 140 of your colleagues are conducting 75 presentations on their best practices and experiences. Attend presentations that will benefit you in the work that you do. Support our KCC colleagues who are presenting.
- Network with colleagues. This may be your only time to meet with your colleagues from across the system this year, so use the networking morning and lunch time wisely.
- Share your images and provide insight into what you’ve learned at the sessions by posting to #uhcctogether on Instagram or Twitter. Door prizes will be selected from one post on each social media platform at the end of the event.
- Plan out your schedule ahead of time. A printed program will be given to you when you check in, but you can look at the linked program here and see what presentations interest you beforehand.
Other things you need to know:
- Parking: Park in the convention center parking structure (entrance is from Kalākaua Avenue) and follow the escalators (or take the elevator) to the Kalākaua Ballroom on level 4 for registration. Be sure to get your parking ticket validated at the registration table when you check in. HISSI will cover the cost of validated self parking. Without validation, you will pay $45 for the day or $15 for validated valet parking.
- WIFI Service: Limited WIFI service is available. See the convention center map for select areas with complimentary WIFI areas.
- Presentations will be held in the meeting rooms on level 3. See the convention center map for room locations.
We would also like to encourage you to be engaged until the end of HISSI when the final door prizes will be handed out. This is your HISSI! Let’s get the most out of it.
