The Paul S. Honda International Center is excited to continue its partnership with the University of the Ryukyus in itʻs fourth season of the Inter-island Sustanability Lecture Series. Inter-island Sustainability Lecture Series
We are honored to welcome Yumiko Ohara (University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo) and Amy Pei-jung Lee (National Dong Hwa University), with the session led by Masahide Ishihara (University of the Ryukyus).
Overview
The fourth session of the Inter-island Sustainability Lecture Series will focus on “Our Languages,” exploring Okinawan Uchināguchi (Okinawan language), Ōlelo Hawaiʻi (Hawaiian language), and Taiwan’s indigenous languages. As part of a COIL-based educational program connecting Okinawa, Hawaiʻi, and Taiwan, this lecture brings together three language experts to provide comparative perspectives on island languages.
