(In celebration of Mahina ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi, the Kūloaʻa Project would like to share a Hawaiian word and proverb of the week.)

Ka huaʻōlelo o kēia pule: Hanu
To breathe, smell, sniff, inhale; breath, respiration, transpiration, last breath of life; vanity (Biblical).

Ka ʻŌlelo Noʻeau o kēia pule: Nui ka hanu o Limahuli i na lehua o Lulu’upali.
Heavily-sighed Limahuli falls over the lehua blossoms of Lulu’upali. – #2347
