“I just don’t know how to talk to my Instructor!”
I’m assisting Student Congress in putting on a workshop in March 2023. The purpose of the workshop is to help students understand how to reach out to their instructors if they are in need of assistance. Some students are still learning how to communicate their needs, overcome shyness, and/or advocate for themselves. I plan to put together an infographic / handout for the workshop using the information I get from three questions:
- What’s one word you would use to describe your teaching style? (I’m making a word cloud, so individual words are needed)
- As an instructor, how do you prefer to be reached?
- What’s one piece of advice you’d like to share with a student who is not sure about what to do to communicate with their instructor?
