As our contribution to Kapi‘olaniʻs Strategic Plan Implementation Plan, the Faculty Senate has submitted a plan that is aligned to the alahele of Thriving and Sustainable Campus Culture and the pahuhopu to Create a Vibrant Work Environment. The goal of this series of three events throughout the fall ʻ24 semester is for instructional and counseling faculty to come together and share with each other what we see in our students’ experiences and collaborate for student success.

On Friday, September 13, 7 faculty members – 3 counseling, 4 instructional – gathered for the first Letʻs Talk About Our Students event of the Fall ʻ24 semester: “Beginning Blues”. We shared with each other many experiences from working with our current KCC students, those post-pandemic students who have had interrupted learning from high school to college and who have had their careers and lives interrupted by the pandemic, and who bring with them many new needs and unique challenges.

Weʻd like to hear from you about your experiences working with these students. Please take 10-15 minutes to complete this Faculty Senate survey.
