Discover how students are getting their hands dirty through these mauka to makai presentations. Students are working with DLNR for the past 4 years to restore Wailupe Valley forests to protect the ʻelepaio bird, learning about the endemic Lonomea trees, landscaping sustainably, testing the effects of salt water on naupaka, and looking at the symbiotic relationship between plant roots and fungi. Other students are hiking across ʻOahʻu cataloging fungi and looking at medical uses, while others are diving deeper into coral health.
