Kapi’olani Community College’s Student Undergraduate Research Fair (SURF) is happening May 5-7! We’re looking for faculty/staff volunteers. May 5 will be on Zoom and May 6-7 will be at Lama Library, 2nd Floor. If you’d like to offer extra credit for your students, please let me know so I can send you the list of students after SURF.
- Campus Ambassador: You’ll attend multiple sessions, engage with the student presenters and guests, and connect them to campus resources when possible. This is a perfect opportunity for you to talk story with students on our campus and create connections to help retain students and build community. Students mentioned in the feedback form every year that being able to talk to faculty and staff was helpful and made them feel like our campus cared about them as individuals. 🥰
- Food Runner: We need someone to pick up food from Costco, Safeway, or restaurants. Must have a car and a driver’s license.

📋 Sign up by Wednesday, April 30. What will you do?:
- Online tasks: ask questions, engage with the presenter, and help us fill rooms.
- In-person tasks: ensure people sign-in to the event, monitor and refill the food station, attend sessions, take photos/videos, help set up presentations, etc.
- Food Runner must have access to a car and driver’s license. Locations may include Costco, Safeway, Sam’s Club, or a restaurant for pick up.
If you are volunteering as part of a program or for extra credit for a class, please put the name of your program/class and the name of the person we should contact.
