In 2003, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security launched a national public service campaign, Ready.gov, to educate and empower Americans to prepare for, respond to, and mitigate emergencies, hazards, and threats.
Every October, millions of people worldwide and Hawaii (The Great Hawaii ShakeOut.) will participate in earthquake drills and learn about earthquake safety.
What will be presented will be the background (origins and effects) info of earthquakes. Preventive measures taken and an earthquake drill will take place – participation is encouraged.
