Celebrate the start of Diversity Month on April 1, 11:30-1:00pm: Screening of award winning documentary, Kumu Hina in Ohia 118

Panel Discussion with faculty, students, and Kumu Hina Team, led by Maiana Minahal, on April 1, 1:00-1:45pm.

Kumu Hina is told through the lens of Hinaleimoana Wong-Kalu, an extraordinary Native Hawaiian who is both a proud and confident māhū (transgender woman) and an honored and respected kumu (teacher) and community leader. The documentary focuses on her struggle to maintain Pacific Islander culture in the midst of a modern day Hawaiʻi influenced by Western values.
