About this webinar: OER are free educational resources that faculty use for no-cost textbooks for their students. They are critical for students struggling with the high cost of education and textbooks and for graduates coping with high student debt. Sunny and Sheryl help faculty find and use OER to teach their students. And the results are in! Students do just as well using OER as they do use expensive textbooks. Students at the University of Hawaiʻi have saved millions. Faculty love tailoring their textbooks. Students love their faculty. Join us for this workshop and learn how to take advantage of the treasure of OER course materials available online. Be a textbook hero.
About Sunny & Sheryl: Sunny Pai is an associate professor and librarian at Kapiʻolani Community College. She has helped grow the use of OER at the college and system levels since 2015. Sheryl Shook teaches the science of sleep and human anatomy and physiology in the Math & Sciences Department at Kapiʻolani Community College and has authored, with the help of her colleagues, OER textbooks for two of her courses, The Science of Sleep and Human Anatomy and Physiology lab.
