 Today, our KapCC students will be sharing the following (sessions are an hour unless marked):

  • 🕊️ How are the Manu-o-Kū, an important navigational bird, doing on our campus this semester (@ 10 am)? Did you know that students are conducting fieldwork on birds out on the Sumida Watercress farms (@ 12 pm)?
  • 💧 Did you know it can take 650 gallons of water to make 1 cotton T-shirt? Take a 15-min break and come compete against your friends in our interactive local and Pacific water sustainability game at 11:15 am and 11:45 am!
  • ⛵ How can we integrate Native Hawaiian culture into the KapCC signage to help students navigate their academic journey? (@ 1 pm)
  • 🆘 Students from CERENE and the RCL program are advocating for better emergency infrastructure, and access to services for vulnerable populations, and highlighting resilience strategies from our kūpuna from 2 pm to 4 pm. 
  • 🌬️ What exactly is my smart watch telling me about my heart (@ 3 pm)? How do factors such as sodium and climate change affect my health? (@1 pm) science presentations?

All through SURF:

  • 🌪️What can we do to help prevent or mitigate damage caused by coastal erosion, earthquakes, and tornados? Presentations from an Ocean, Earth, Sciences, & Technology class, OEST 101
  • 🌄What do electric circuits and ahupuaʻa have to do with each other?
